Biography of Murad Aliyev

Murad Aliyev is a Soviet, Russian, and Turkmen film actor and director. He is also an Honored Artist of Turkmenistan and a laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Turkmenistan. In 1977, he graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) and worked as a film chronicle director at the Turkmenfilm Studio.

During his career, Murad Aliyev directed over thirty films, including "The Path to Olympus," "Makhtumkuli," and "Palvan," which were winners at All-Union film festivals. From 1975 to 1990, he served as a film chronicle director at the Altyn Karliev Turkmenfilm Studio.

From 1990 to 1992, Murad Aliyev held the position of artistic director of the Turkmen Center for Film and Television for Children and Youth, called "Nusay." From 1993 to 1999, he was the Deputy Chairman of the State Film and Video Company of Turkmenistan and also the Chairman of the Turkmen Center for Film and Television for Children and Youth, "Nusay."

Due to being suspended from cinematographic activities, Murad Aliyev engaged in entrepreneurship from 1999 to 2000. Since 2001, he has been working in Moscow.
