Mousa completed a successful run at the Los Angeles tournament with victories over Malawian Drake Tadzi and Englishman Tony Wilson. In the semi-finals, he went down against eventual gold medalist, Yugoslav Anton Josipović. However, he secured a bronze medal alongside future heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield.
Professional Career and Legacy
Mousa's attempt to establish himself in the professional sphere proved unsuccessful, with four consecutive losses. He fought his first two bouts in 1988, then reappeared in 1992 and 2004.
A Tragic End
On August 3, 2024, Mousa's life was tragically cut short. He passed away at the age of 62 after sustaining injuries in a road accident in Oran.
