Early Life and Education
Born into a Jewish family, the Ukrainian genealogist, writer, tour guide, and public figure was born and raised in Ukraine. In 1997, she repatriated to Israel and pursued her academic studies at the International Solomon University, specializing in Judaic studies and sociology.
Return to Ukraine and Excursion Work
In 2004, she returned to Ukraine and dedicated herself to historical research and tourism. She trained as a tour guide specializing in Jewish history and began exploring the country's rich Jewish heritage.
Genealogical Research and Preservation
Through her extensive research, she uncovered details of Jewish pogroms during the First World War and the subsequent civil wars. Her findings and a vast archive of digitized documents are accessible on the Memorial Site for Jewish Pogroms in the Russian Empire.
Indexing and Online Database
Driven by her passion for Jewish genealogy, she meticulously indexed approximately one million archival records related to Jewish ancestry dating back to the mid-19th century. These records from Ukrainian archives were made available through a fee-based online database.
International Recognition
Her contributions to the field of Jewish genealogy have earned her global recognition. In March 2015, she presented her findings at the Jewish Genealogical Society in Miami. She has also been actively involved in the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies for several years.
Conference Presentations
In 2017, she spoke at the "Riga Forum – Holocaust and Contemporary Radicalism" international conference in Riga, Latvia, attended by over 100 participants from 17 countries. Her expertise was further showcased at the international conference on Jewish genealogy in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2019.
Personal Life
From 2004 to 2005, she was married to Igor Evgenievich Branovitsky. She currently resides with her second husband, Alexei (Elisha), in Deniyа.
