Nadezhda Vasilyeva is a renowned singer and a laureate of the International Competition for Opera Singers named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov (1994, St. Petersburg). She was born in Kazakhstan and received her education at the Conducting and Choral Faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Culture. In 1984, she graduated from the Leningrad State Conservatory, where she studied solo singing under the guidance of professor R.A. Barinova.
From 1984 to 1986, Vasilyeva served as a soloist at the Lunacharsky Ural Opera and Ballet Theatre. During her time there, she performed in various productions, including "The Demon" (Angel), "Boris Godunov" (Marina Mnishek), "Faust" (Siebel), "The Tsar's Bride" (Lyubasha), and "Eugene Onegin" (Olga).
Afterward, she embarked on a concert career in St. Petersburg from 1986 to 1993, showcasing her vocal talents. During this period, Vasilyeva further honed her singing skills as an assistant at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under the tutelage of professor G.A. Kovaleva (1991-1993).
In 1993, Vasilyeva became a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre, where she continues to perform to this day. Her repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes roles such as Nezhata ("Sadko"), Ratmir ("Ruslan and Lyudmila"), Kashcheevna ("Kashchey the Immortal"), Alkonost ("The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya"), Perfilievna ("The Maid of Pskov"), Death ("The Nightingale"), Martha ("Iolanta"), Sonetka/Katerina ("Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk"), Martha ("Faust"), Bertha ("The Barber of Seville"), Snow Queen/Grandmother ("The Story of Kai and Gerda"), Smeraldina ("The Love for Three Oranges"), Shinkarka/Mamka Kseniya ("Boris Godunov"), Nun ("The Fiery Angel"), Duenya ("The Enchanted Bride"), and Sieglinde ("Die Walküre").
With the Mariinsky Theatre troupe and as a solo artist, Vasilyeva has toured extensively in Germany (Hamburg Opera), Italy (La Scala), Japan, the United States, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. Her performances have captivated audiences worldwide, showcasing her remarkable vocal talent and artistry.
