Early Life and Education

Born on January 7, 1956, in Sverdlovsky district, Zhambyl region

Graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V. I. Lenin in 1978

Completed advanced courses at the KGB USSR in Minsk and Moscow in 1982

Career in the KGB

Began employment as an engineer at the KazNII "Gidrofosfor" institute in 1978

Worked in the KGB USSR in Stavropol from 1982 to 1986, holding various positions

Returned to Kazakhstan to work in the KGB Kazakh SSR from 1986 to 1994, holding senior roles

Rise in the National Security Committee

Appointed Deputy Head of the Organizational Inspectorate Department, Committee of National Security of Kazakhstan (KNB) in 1994

Subsequently became Head of the Department of Prospective Development at KNB

Assumed the position of Head of the KNB Department in Pavlodar Region in 1997

Deputy Chairman of the KNB

Served as Deputy and First Deputy Chairman of the KNB from 1998 to 2001
