Natalia Kazmina was born in Moscow, USSR. Her passion for theater began at a young age, and she pursued a career in theater criticism after graduating from university.
Career at the State Institute of Art History
In 1977, Kazmina joined the theater department of the State Institute of Art History (GII). She became a senior researcher and published numerous articles on contemporary theater in scholarly journals.
Work at the Theater Magazine
From 1977 to 1994 and again from 2000 to 2008, Kazmina worked as an editor at the prestigious "Theater" magazine. In 1994, she became the deputy editor-in-chief of the publication.
Editing and Publishing
In 2006, Kazmina became the editor of the anthology series "Questions of Theater / Proscienium" published by the GII. She also served as the editor-in-chief of the journal "Questions of Theater."
Final Years and Legacy
Natalia Kazmina passed away on November 30, 2011, and was buried in the Bogorodskoye Cemetery in Moscow. Her contributions to theater criticism and scholarship continue to inspire and guide generations of theater artists and academics.
