Early Life and Education
Erbolat Dossayev was born on April 8, 1958, in Sarkan, Kazakhstan. She worked as a laborer at the Almaty Tobacco Factory in 1975 before earning a degree in finance and credit from the Almaty Institute of National Economy in 1979.
Career in Government
Dossayev began her government career in 1979 as an economist in the Ministry of Finance of the Kazakh SSR. She rose through the ranks, holding various positions, including Deputy Head of the Social Welfare Financing Department.
During her tenure in government, Dossayev held several leadership roles, including Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1999 to 2002, she served as Deputy Minister of Finance. She then became Vice Minister (2002-2005) and First Vice Minister (2005-2006) of Economy and Budget Planning.
Minister of Finance
From January 18, 2006, to November 14, 2007, Dossayev served as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this role, she played a key role in shaping the country's economic policies.
Post-Ministerial Career
Following her tenure as Minister of Finance, Dossayev became the Responsible Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. She is also a member of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Other Activities and Recognition
Dossayev is the President of the Women's Football and Mini-Football Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She has published extensively in academic and professional journals. Her accomplishments have been recognized with several awards, including the Order of Kurmet (2001), the Order of Parasat (2009), and the Order of Barys, 3rd degree (2016).
