Biography of Nazarbay Bliev

Nazarbay Bliev is a Kazakh mathematician and specialist in the field of generalized analytic functions, boundary value problems in mathematical physics, and singular integral equations. He was born on September 15, 1935, in the village of Zharkamys in the Bayganinsky district of the Aktobe region.

In 1952, Bliev enrolled in the Mathematics Department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty at the S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University (now al-Farabi Kazakh National University), which he graduated from in 1957. He then worked as a lecturer at the Guriev Pedagogical Institute until 1960.

In 1960, Bliev entered the graduate school of the Mathematical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1965, he successfully defended his candidate dissertation on the existence of analytical solutions for degenerate elliptic systems in the vicinity of a degenerate point.

Since 1963, Bliev's scientific activity has been associated with the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. From 1988 to 2000, he served as the director of the Institute of Mathematics. He has supervised 18 candidates and 3 doctors of science.

Bliev was awarded the title of professor in 1985. In 1989, he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, and in 2003, he became an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1998, he was awarded the honorary title of "Distinguished Scientist and Technologist of the Republic of Kazakhstan," and in 1999, he received the first-degree Horezmi International Award.

Bliev has published more than 120 scientific works, focusing on the theory of generalized analytic functions, boundary value problems in mathematical physics, and singular integral equations.
