Biography of Nia Sanchez
Nia Sanchez is an American model and beauty queen. She was born on February 16, 1990, in Sacramento, California. Her parents, David Sanchez and Heidi Sanford, divorced when Nia was six years old. For a period of time, Nia had to stay with her mother in a women's shelter in Las Vegas.

At the age of seven, Nia and her family settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. She later moved to Menifee, California, with her father and younger brother, where she completed her high school education in 2008. Nia participated in her first beauty pageant at the age of 13 and won the title of "Miss Citrus Valley" at the age of 19, which granted her the opportunity to compete in the "Miss Latina" pageant in Ecuador.

Nia made her debut in the "Miss California" pageant in 2010, where she placed 3rd out of 133 contestants as "Miss Citrus Valley". She went on to win the titles of "Miss Riverside" in 2011 and "Miss Hollywood" in 2012, but was unsuccessful in winning the "Miss California" pageant.

In 2011, Nia represented the United States in the "Miss Reina Mundial de Banano 2011" pageant, but did not advance to the finals. After winning the title of "Miss South Las Vegas", Nia competed in the "Miss Nevada" pageant and won on January 12, 2014. This victory made her the first native of Nevada to win the title. Later that year, she represented the United States in the "Miss USA" pageant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and emerged as the winner, receiving the crown from the previous year's winner, Erin Brady of Connecticut.

During the final question and answer portion of the competition, Nia spoke about the issue of sexual crimes against women who have not yet received an education, emphasizing the importance of being able to physically defend oneself. It is worth noting that Nia holds a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo.
Nia became the first Miss Nevada to win the Miss USA title and the fourth Latina to win a national pageant, following Laura Harring in 1985, Lynnette Cole in 2000, and Susie Castillo in 2003. Interestingly, the Miss USA pageant took place outside of Nevada for the first time in seven years.
In June 2014, Nia participated in a radio quiz and surprised listeners and the host by being unable to answer the question, "What is the capital of Nevada?" This lack of knowledge about the state she represented was unexpected. As the winner of the national pageant, Nia will compete in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant.
