Unplanned Pregnancy

In January 2010, Katie's relationship hit a snag, and her boyfriend asked for a break. Five days later, prompted by her mother, she took a pregnancy test, which came back positive. Katie was shocked and devastated.
Medical Negligence
Katie visited a doctor and was referred to a sexual health clinic in Bolton Hospital. It was determined that the IUD had been incorrectly inserted by a nurse at the family planning clinic. This revelation shattered Katie's dreams of a promising career and left her feeling robbed of her youth and independence.
Single Motherhood
Katie received a weekly welfare benefit of £120 and experienced postpartum depression. She became isolated and lost interest in her appearance. However, the birth of her daughter, Niamh Kelly-Ince, brought some joy into her life.
Legal Action
