Biography of Nick Fedaeff

Nick Fedaeff, an artist and musician, is a New Zealand artist of Russian descent who lives and works in Auckland. He was born on May 20, 1965, in Stepnyak, Kokchetav Oblast, Kazakhstan. Fedaeff completed his secondary education at School No. 13 in Temirtau in 1982. From 1982 to 1988, he studied at the Tomsk Polytechnic University. Fedaeff has been passionate about drawing and music since childhood. In 1986, he formed the rock band 'Konstruktsiya' and two years later, he founded the band 'Volosy'. The lyrics to many of their songs were written by poets Maxim Baturin and Andrei Filimonov. Fedaeff is one of the pioneers of Tomsk rock, having organized the 'Veselaya Muzyka' festival, which featured performances by famous Russian musicians such as Andrei Gavrilov, 'Obshchestvo Kartinnik', 'Budni Leprozoriya', and others. He also participated in the 'Rock Asia' and 'Rock Periphery' festivals.

From 1990 to 1991, the band toured in Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Moscow, and other cities. In 1991, the group's album was recorded at the 'Melodiya' company, but due to the economic crisis, it was never released. From 1988 to 1996, Nick Fedaeff worked as the head of the music department at the Skomorokh Puppet and Actor Theater under the direction of Roman Vinderman. During this time, he composed music for many plays, including 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Little Prince' at the '2 + Ku' theater.

From 1991 to 1993, Fedaeff worked as the host and author of the program 'Baraban' at the TV2 television company. In 1996, he immigrated to New Zealand and studied multimedia and web design at a college. He worked at the Distance Education Department of the University of Auckland. In 2001, he founded a company in the field of internet marketing, but in 2004, Fedaeff left the business to pursue a career as a professional artist.

Nick Fedaeff is known for his surrealist style of painting. He is a regular participant in the Art Basel Miami Beach, the world's premier contemporary art fair. His paintings can be found in many private collections around the world. He is also the author of the book 'The Bitter Sweet Philosophies,' a collection of children's illustrations by Nick Fedaeff with captions by several writers.

Nick is married to Lara, and they have two daughters, Nava and Dora. He is a well-known representative of the Russian-speaking community abroad. In 2004, he organized an annual tennis tournament for tennis enthusiasts in the Russian-speaking community of New Zealand. Since 2016, Nick Fedaeff and his wife have been traveling the world, painting and exhibiting in different countries.
