Early Life and Career
Evgeny Opanasenko is a Ukrainian footballer who plays as a midfielder and is the captain of the Zorya Luhansk club. Born and raised in Luhansk, Ukraine, Opanasenko began his football journey as a youth at the local football school, where he was the team captain. His first coach was Yuri Rabochy.
Professional Career
Opanasenko's professional career began with Zorya Luhansk, where he made his debut. He subsequently played for Avanhard Rovenky before returning to Zorya in 2008. During the 2007/08 season, he helped Mariupol's Ilyichevets achieve promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League.
In 2007, Opanasenko left Zorya due to a conflict with Alexander Kosevich, the club's then-coach.
Return to Zorya
In 2008, Opanasenko returned to Zorya Luhansk. On March 21, 2009, in a match against Chornomorets Odesa, he played his 100th match for Zorya and captained the team for the first time.

Opanasenko has been the captain of Zorya Luhansk since 2009. He is a married man and has a family.
