Biography of Nikolai Simorot

Nikolai Simorot was born in 1928 in the village of Olshana in the Prilutsky District, Ukraine, in a family of farmers. He graduated from Lviv Medical Institute in 1953 and completed his postgraduate training at the Department of Anatomy of Lviv Medical Institute. In 1965, after defending his candidate dissertation, he was sent to the Department of Anatomy of Voroshilovgrad Medical Institute. He obtained the title of associate professor at Grodno Medical Institute.

Working as the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at Grodno State Medical Institute, Simorot defended his doctoral dissertation "Vascular System of the Gastrointestinal Tract in Staged Resections of the Stomach and Gastrectomies" in 1972.

From 1991 to 1997, Simorot served as the head of the Department of Pathological and Topographical Anatomy and Operative Surgery, and from 1997 onwards, he became the head of the course of Topographical Anatomy and Operative Surgery. He is a student of the scientific school of Academician V. V. Kovanov.

Simorot's research direction focuses on morpho-functional justifications for surgical interventions on the abdominal organs, organ-specific features of wound healing processes, and the search for adequate ways of their regulation. He has authored 185 scientific works, including 1 monograph and 4 textbooks. He is also the author of several rationalization proposals. Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 5 candidate dissertations have been completed.

Nikolai Simorot is a respected doctor and morphologist. In 1998, he was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Public Education of Ukraine. He is a Doctor of Medical Sciences and a professor. His significant contributions to the field of medicine and his dedication to teaching and research have made him a prominent figure in Ukrainian medical education and practice.
