Early Career
Nikica Jelavić is a Croatian footballer who plays as a striker for Italian club Fiorentina and the Croatian national team. He is currently on loan to Milan.
Jelavić began his professional career with Hajduk Split in 2005. In 2006, he went on loan to Istra 1961 in Pula. In the same year, he joined another club on loan, this time Šibenik.
Return to Hajduk and Move to Blackburn Rovers
In 2007, Jelavić returned to Hajduk Split and scored 18 goals in his first full season. He finished second in the league's scoring charts. In 2009, he moved to English club Blackburn Rovers for a fee of €7 million.
International Career
Jelavić has represented Croatia at various youth levels since 2003. He made his senior international debut in a friendly match against Moldova in 2008. He was part of the Croatian squad that competed in the 2008 European Championship.
