Lieutenant General Konstantin Ivanov

Early Life and Education

Konstantin Ivanov was born in 1813. He received his education at the Pavlovsk Cadet Corps, graduating as a lieutenant in the 10th Artillery Brigade in 1830.

Military Service

Ivanov played a significant role in the Polish Campaign of 1831. In 1837, he joined the troops of the Separate Caucasian Corps and subsequently participated in campaigns against the mountain tribes. In 1849, he became the head of the 7th District of Engineers for Military Settlements in the Caucasus.

Governor of Kutaisi

In 1852, Ivanov was promoted to colonel and appointed acting Governor of Kutaisi. By 1858, he had risen to the rank of major general and was appointed Assistant Commander of the Troops in the Kuban Region.

Commander of the Kuban Cossack Army

From 1861 to 1863, Ivanov served as the Commander of the Kuban Cossack Army, participating in the final campaigns of the Caucasian War.

Retirement and Later Years

In 1863, Ivanov was transferred to the Caucasian Army without assignment. In 1866, he was promoted to lieutenant general. Ivanov passed away on November 7, 1873.
