Biography of Nikolai Kasyan
Nikolai Kasyan was a renowned doctor of osteopathy and manual therapist, as well as a folk doctor of the USSR and an esteemed doctor in Ukraine. He was born and lived most of his life in the city of Kobelyaky, Poltava Oblast, Ukraine, and was honored as a honorary citizen of the city. He graduated from the Kharkov Medical Institute in 1964.
Inherited Healing Abilities
Belonging to a dynasty of local bone-setters, his great-grandfather was a bone-setter in a district hospital. The hereditary gift of diagnosing patients with his hands, without relying on X-rays or other technical means, was expressed in his ability to determine diagnoses. Nikolai Kasyan treated many celebrities, including Soviet cosmonauts, and was awarded the "Golden Medal in the name of Yuri Gagarin" for his contributions.
Guinness World Records
In 1993, the Guinness Book of World Records listed the following statistics: "Ukraine. The highest number of bone-setting operations performed by folk doctor Nikolai Kasyan. In 1990, he performed spinal disc manipulations on 41,251 patients, including 19,359 children." He authored the monograph "Manual Therapy for Spinal Osteochondrosis."
Center for Manual Therapy
In 2005, the Center for Manual Therapy was opened in Kobelyaky. The construction of the center began in 1990, and Nikolai Kasyan became its managing director. Later, his adopted son, Dr. Yan Kasyan, took over as the center's manager. However, due to a serious illness, Nikolai Kasyan stopped accepting patients at his Center for Manual Therapy, except for children and newborns.
Legacy
Nikolai Kasyan, the renowned bone-setter, passed away on October 28, 2009. He was laid to rest on October 30, 2009, in his hometown of Kobelyaky.
