Early Life and Education

Nikolay Levichev was born on May 28, 1953, in Pushkin, Leningrad Oblast. He graduated from a specialized mathematics high school and pursued a degree in Physics at Leningrad State University.

Political Career

After completing his education, Levichev served as a scientific researcher at the Vavilov State Optical Institute. He actively participated in public affairs, rising through the ranks of the Komsomol organization. He held various leadership positions within the Leningrad Komsomol, including head of the culture department.

Founding the Russian Life Party

In 2002, Levichev co-founded the Russian Life Party (RPP) and served as its chief ideologist. He believed in finding "effective forms of political solidarity for active people who love life and their homeland." Levichev initially held the position of co-chairman of the party's National Council and later became Deputy Chairman.

Transition to United Russia

In 2006, the RPP merged with other parties to form the new "United Russia" political structure. Levichev played a key role in this merger, leading the RPP's transformation into the "Charter of Life" public movement.

Leader of the Fair Russia Faction

In 2007, Levichev joined the Fair Russia party, led by his childhood friend, Sergey Mironov. Levichev was elected as the leader of the party's faction in the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament.
