Nicolay Ivanovich Bilozub
Nicolay Ivanovich Bilozub is a Ukrainian statesman who served as the Chairman of the Poltava Regional State Administration from 1995 to 1998.
Early Life and Career
Bilozub was born into a working-class family. In 1968, he graduated from the Kharkiv Highway Institute, specializing in economics and engineering. After graduation, he worked in Kazakhstan for three years as an auto mechanic in the Lomosovskiy state farm.
Military Service and Political Career
From 1960 to 1963, Bilozub served in the Red Banner Baltic Fleet. In 1970, he returned to civilian life in Kremenchug, where he held various positions in the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU), including instructor of the city party committee, chairman of the district executive committee, and chairman of the executive committee of the Kremenchug City Council.
In 1980, Bilozub was appointed as the first secretary of the Kremenchug City Committee of the CPU. He remained in this position until 1990.
Post-Independence Career
After Ukraine gained independence, Bilozub served as the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Poltava region from 1992 to 2000. He also held the positions of Chairman of the Poltava Regional State Administration and advisor to the President of Ukraine.
Later Career and Awards
In the 2000s, Bilozub worked as Deputy Manager of the Kremenchug and Poltava regional branches of the Prominvestbank. He has received numerous awards, including the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Badge of Honor, the Medal for Labor Valour, and the Medal for the 100th Anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's Birth. In 1996, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Kremenchug.
