Early Life and Education
Oksana Bychkovawas born on February 25, 1958, in Lithuania. She pursued her education at Vilnius University and later attended the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS). In 1987, she graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography (LGITMiK), where she studied under the renowned director Georgy Tovstonogov.
Theatrical Career
Prior to entering the film industry, Bychkova directed plays at various drama theaters in cities such as Kharkiv, Cheboksary, Klaipėda, and Leningrad. Her theatrical career laid the foundation for her future success in filmmaking.
Filmmaking Debut
In 1989, Bychkova made her cinematic debut at the Lenfilm Studio, participating in the First Film Workshop led by Alexei German. Her directorial credits include:
