Early Life and Education
Anne Beathe Tvinnereim was born on November 4, 1961, in Strand, Rogaland, Norway. Her father worked in a metal factory, while her mother was a homemaker and business owner. After graduating from secondary school in 1980, she pursued medical studies at Stavanger College (now the University of Stavanger), graduating in 1987.
Between 1992 and 1994, Tvinnereim studied administration and finance at NKI Institute in Oslo. She later specialized as a critical care nurse at the University of Stavanger in 1997-1999.
Political Career
Local PoliticsTvinnereim's political career began in 2003 when she was elected to the municipal council of Eigersund. She was subsequently elected mayor of Eigersund in 2007 and served until 2013.
County Politics
From 2007 to 2013, Tvinnereim was also a member of the Rogaland County Council. She actively participated in the Christian People's Party (KrF) at the local level, holding leadership positions in the Eigersund and Rogaland branches.
National Politics
Tvinnereim was elected to the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in 2013, representing the Rogaland constituency. She has served as the chairwoman of the Storting's Health and Care Services Committee since 2017.
Acting Party Leader
Following the resignation of Knut Arild Hareide in 2019, Tvinnereim served as acting leader of KrF until Kjell Ingolf Ropstad's election in April 2019. She again became acting party leader in September 2021 after Ropstad's resignation.
Government and Ministerial Roles
In January 2019, Tvinnereim became Minister of Agriculture and Food in Erna Solberg's government. She briefly served as Acting Minister of Children and Family Affairs in October 2019 and again in September 2021 following Ropstad's departure.
Personal Life
Anne Beathe Tvinnereim is married to Jan Frode Bollestad, the director of a kindergarten in Eigersund.
