Biography of Oleg Altunyan
Oleg Altunyan is an architect who was born on March 17, 1960, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. He completed his studies at the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute's architectural faculty in 1982. Altunyan became a member of the Union of Architects of Russia in 1987.
From 1982 to 1989, Altunyan worked at the Turkmen State Design Institute in the department of individual design. He then served as the chief architect at TAMU Arkhproekt from 1989 to 1991. Following this, from 1991 to 1996, he led his own personal architectural workshop in Ashgabat. Since 1996, Altunyan has been practicing privately in Samara.
Altunyan has received numerous awards and recognition for his work. He was a laureate of the republican exhibition-competition of young architects in Turkmenistan in 1987. In 1988, he received the diploma of the Union of Architects of the USSR and the diploma of Arkhproekt for his project of the Theater for Young Spectators in Ashgabat. He also won the regional exhibition-competition of young architects in Tashkent in 1990 and the All-Union exhibition-competition of young architects in Turkmenistan in 1992.
Throughout his career, Altunyan has completed various projects and constructions. Some notable examples include the Ankara Hotel in Ternopil, Ukraine, the Nuremberg exhibition of the stone processing company VOLHONTET-BANCHY in Australia, and the country residence of the President of Turkmenistan. He has also worked on the Maru Hotel in Mary, the theater for young spectators in Ashgabat, and the office for the MERHAV firm in Ashgabat, among others.
Altunyan has also worked on interior design projects such as the hotel complex and conference hall for the Samara Region Administration. He has been involved in the design of the Pushkin Theater, the building of OAO "Volgotanker," and an office in Tolyatti. Altunyan has also collaborated on the design of a cultural and business center on the territory of the Stankozavod.
