Oleg Garbuz: A Biographical Sketch
Early Life and EducationOleg Garbuz was born on 21 September 1970, in Minsk, Belarus. His mother, a mathematician by profession, worked in information technology and programming, while his father, Alexander Garbuz, was a structural engineer specializing in complex technical buildings.
After completing eighth grade, Garbuz enrolled in a polytechnic technical college. He initially planned to pursue a degree in physics at Belarusian State University but was unable to secure admission. Instead, he joined the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, where he led an independent project on the automation of research processes.
In 1994, Garbuz graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts with a degree in Dramatic Theater and Cinema Acting. He studied under the renowned theater artist Valery Myazynski.
Theater Career
Garbuz began his stage career at the "Volnaya Stsena" Theater of Belarusian Drama. In 1997, he joined the troupe of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater. He remained a member of the theater until August 2020, when he resigned in solidarity with the dismissed director, Pavel Latushko.
