Biography of Olga Sidorova

Olga Sidorova, an actress and model, was born on June 15, 1976, in Moscow. Her father, Evgeny Alekseevich, was a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences and is known for inventing a device that transmitted the number of heartbeats of astronauts to Earth, which was later used by Yuri Gagarin. Her mother, Nina Fedorovna, came to conquer Moscow from a remote village in the Novgorod region, where she grew up in a family of fifteen children. Nina Fedorovna is a determined woman who graduated from a technical school and then an institute and worked as an economist in an agricultural institute.

Early Life and Artistic Abilities

From a young age, Olga demonstrated artistic abilities. She enjoyed attending ballet classes at the AZLK studio and studied at a music school, where she played the cello. Even then, she showed perseverance, determination, and a desire to win. Once, while rushing to a children's competition named after Tchaikovsky, she slipped and broke her cello. The teacher quickly managed to get a new instrument, and despite not being familiar with it and being disheveled in torn tights, Olga still managed to win second place.

Decision to Pursue Acting

After finishing school, Olga initially decided to apply to the Journalism Faculty of Moscow State University. However, soon after submitting her documents, she changed her mind and decided to try her luck at the Shchukin Theatre School. She later explained her decision by saying, "I thought to myself: I like being in the spotlight, I enjoy acting, dancing, and singing, so it's time to step onto the stage."

Education and Early Career

Olga was successfully admitted to the Shchukin Theatre School, where she studied alongside Maria Poroshina, Olga Budina, and Anton Makarsky. However, she was unable to graduate from the school. She recalls, "We had a popular actor as our teacher, a charming man who, of course, liked me. As did other young girls in the school. He tried to help me with my studies, gave me hints during rehearsals... But this period quickly ended as soon as my artistic director noticed this attraction. Her jealousy was so unreasonable that I had to leave. But now I am even grateful to her for it..."

After leaving the Shchukin Theatre School, Olga spent two months contemplating her next steps. She tried to find work by approaching several top modeling agencies but was rejected everywhere. However, luck came unexpectedly when a car stopped next to her on the street, and the man turned out to be an agent from a modeling agency who invited her for an audition. Olga accepted the invitation with suspicion but decided to take the risk. The agency turned out to be reliable.

Love and Family

During this time, Olga also met her love, Alexander, who was a fashion designer by profession and had his own company in Germany. He flew to Moscow for business and once encountered Olga, a charming green-eyed blonde, on Arbat street. He couldn't resist her beauty. Olga recalls, "With Sasha, a different life began. He was 14 years older, which meant he was more experienced, smarter, and wiser. He took me to nice restaurants, expensive stores, and courted me like no one else before." They married a few months later, and they soon had a daughter. While Olga stayed at home with their newborn, Alexander supported the family. However, he later lost his job, and Olga had to start earning money herself. Before the birth of her child, Olga had already been accepted into the State Institute of Theatrical Art (GITIS) and was admitted directly to the third year. To have the flexibility to work, she transferred to the correspondence department.

Rise to Fame

Upon the invitation of a modeling agency, Olga Sidorova went to Milan to participate in a bridal fashion show, but she did not earn much money there. However, she decided to return to Moscow and it turned out to be the right decision. Her career in the capital city started to flourish, with appearances in music videos, commercials, and her debut in film with a minor role in Karen Shakhnazarov's "Full Moon Day" in 1998. In the same year, she appeared in the episodes of other films such as "Essay for Victory Day," "Retro Trio," and "Love is Evil..." In 1999, Olga Sidorova graduated from GITIS, and a year later, she starred in her first leading role in the youth film "Good and Bad" directed by Dmitry Fix and Anatoly Artamonov. However, her breakthrough role came as Nadezhda Suportova in Sergey Solovyov's film "Tender Age." The most talked-about scene was an erotic scene in a pool, but Olga admits she felt no embarrassment during the shoot, as she trusted the director and cinematographer.

Continued Success

Since 2000, Olga Sidorova has regularly appeared in films. Some of her notable works include Lena Zorina, the protagonist's mistress, in Philip Yankovsky's film "In Motion," Karoline de Roche in the Russian-French film "Liza Alisa," and a fellow traveler in Natalya Petrova's film "The Road." She has also appeared in various television series, such as "Sledstvie vedut Znatoki. Ten Years Later" (2002), "Undina" (2003), "On the Corner near Patriarch's" (2004), and "Primadonna" (2005).

Olga Sidorova does not shy away from working in TV series, as long as they are not projects with a hundred or more episodes. She believes that every day on set requires constant acting, even when she doesn't have time to understand or feel her role. However, she values her work in series as an opportunity to earn money and maintain her acting skills.

In 2005, Olga Sidorova participated in the remake of the legendary comedy "Queen of a Gas Station" directed by Ukrainian filmmakers. She played the role of Lyudmila Dobryvecher, which was originally portrayed by the incomparable Nadezhda Rumyantseva. In the same year, she portrayed the character of Ekaterina Zatsepin, a fashion model, in the crime film "Golden Medusa."

Olga Sidorova is known for her independent character. She is not afraid to speak the truth to producers' faces if she is unhappy with how she is being filmed. She believes in standing up for herself and her colleagues when she witnesses unfair treatment. In terms of theater, unlike film, Olga has not found a romantic relationship with it yet. She contemplates whether returning to the theater is her true calling.

Olga Sidorova lived with her first husband for nine years before their paths diverged. She states, "I fought as much as I could. And then I gave up. A person can only change their own destiny..."

Olga Sidorova continues to pursue her acting career and remains a prominent figure in the Russian film industry.
