Early Life and Military Background
Oleg Maslennikov-Voitov was born on October 18, 1977, into a family with a strong military tradition. His father and all his male relatives on both sides of his family served in the military. From an early age, Maslennikov-Voitov was raised in patriotic values.
Discoveries in the Arts and a Career Choice
Despite his military upbringing, Maslennikov-Voitov developed a passion for theater in high school. Inspired by after-school programs led by educators from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Shchukin Theater School, he began to explore acting. After graduating high school, he faced a dilemma: military college or theater.
Military and Theatrical Education
In 1994, Maslennikov-Voitov entered the Omsk Higher Tank Engineering College. For two years, he studied military science while pursuing his interest in the arts by forming a vocal-instrumental ensemble that performed in various garrisons. Ultimately, his passion for theater prevailed.
In 1996, he left the military college and joined the Moscow Art Theater School (MXAT) under the guidance of Yevgeny Lazarev. He graduated in 2000 with roles in plays such as "Poor Bride," "Don't Sit in Someone Else's Sleigh," "Last Summer in Chulymsk," and "Zoykina Apartment."
Early Theatrical Career
Maslennikov-Voitov began his acting career with the "Na Pokrovke" Theater, performing in productions such as "My Poor Marat," "Interview on the Topic of Freedom," "The Little Prince," "Jealousy," "The Inspector General," and "Hamlet." In 2001, he moved to the "Modernt" Theater.
Theatrical Breakthrough
Maslennikov-Voitov's breakthrough came in 2002, when he portrayed Grigori Rasputin in the play "The Loop." His performance earned him the Diploma and Special Award "Recognition" at the Moscow International Television and Theater Festival "Youth of the Century" for his talented execution of a male role in theater. He also performed in "The Journey of the Little Prince," "Katerina Ivanovna," and "Looking for a Meeting."
Film and Television Career
Maslennikov-Voitov made his film debut in 2001 with small roles in TV series such as "Detectives" and "Airport." In the following years, he played supporting characters in "Stalin.Live," "Race for Happiness," and others.
Rising Popularity
Maslennikov-Voitov rose to prominence in 2009 with his role as Andrei Kalugin, a photographer and art editor, in the popular TV series "Margo." His character's love interest in the series gained him widespread recognition.
