Biography of Olga Ivantsova

Olga Ivanova Ivantsova was born on July 16, 1924, in the village of Bolshoy Sambor in the Chernigov region. In 1930, her family moved to Krasnodon, where she completed her education at School No. 4 named after K.E. Voroshilov. In 1938, she became a member of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League (Komsomol).

During World War II, Olga joined the underground organization called "Molodaya Gvardiya" (Young Guard). She became a liaison agent and was tasked with establishing contact with partisan units in the Kamensk area of the Rostov region. Their goal was to create a supply base and acquire weapons. However, Olga was arrested by the enemy in Kamensk and thrown into prison. Despite the interrogations and torture, she remained loyal to her oath and did not reveal any information to the Nazis. Her comrades in the underground organization managed to bribe the guards and rescue her.

After returning to Krasnodon, Olga continued her resistance against the Nazis in the underground. She wrote and distributed leaflets and conducted explanatory work among the population. In January 1943, after the first wave of arrests, Olga left the city. In February, she returned to Krasnodon with Soviet Army units and became a Komsomol worker. She played an active role in the establishment of the "Molodaya Gvardiya" museum and the collection of exhibits.

In 1947, Olga Ivantsova was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR of the 2nd convocation. In 1948, she joined the ranks of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). In 1954, she graduated from Lviv Higher Trade School. She was involved in party work in the city of Krivoy Rog in the Dnipropetrovsk region and is currently serving as the deputy director of the Krivoy Rog Furniture Company.

For her participation in the underground Komsomol organization "Molodaya Gvardiya," Olga Ivanovna Ivantsova was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Medal "Partisan of the Patriotic War" of the 1st degree.
