Biography of Omar Ortiz
Omar Ortiz is a Mexican hyperrealist artist who was born in 1977 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He currently resides in his birthplace, which is the administrative center of the state of Jalisco. Ortiz's main focus in his artwork is human figures, particularly portraying beautiful women surrounded by intricately detailed drapery.
Early Life and Education
In the beginning, Omar Ortiz's interest lied in graphic design and illustrating books. He obtained a degree in graphic design from college, where he explored various artistic techniques including drawing, pastel, charcoal, watercolor, acrylics, and airbrushing. After completing his college education, Omar decided to dedicate himself to the world of painting.
Artistic Journey
In 2002, Omar Ortiz completed his first course in oil painting under the guidance of artist Carmen Alarcon, whom he considers his Master in the realm of art. Today, he primarily works with oil paints, considering it the most noble form of artistic expression. His artworks, which predominantly feature the human body in all its beauty, are described as minimalist hyperrealism.
