Oribe Peralta: A Mexican Forward with Olympic Glory
Early CareerOribe Peralta, a Mexican striker, began his professional career at Club Morelia. After making his debut in 2003, he moved to León, where he scored 10 goals in his debut season.
Monterrey and Guadalaraja Loan
In 2004, Peralta joined Monterrey, where he scored 5 goals in 22 matches and helped the team reach two national finals. In 2005, he spent a brief time on loan at Guadalaraja for the Copa Libertadores.
Santos Laguna and Chiapas Loan
In 2006, Peralta returned to his hometown club, Santos Laguna. After initially struggling for playing time, he regained form in 2009 while on loan at Chiapas, scoring 12 goals in 35 matches.
Breakthrough Season with Santos Laguna
Upon his return to Santos, Peralta had a breakout season in 2011/12. He scored 43 goals in all competitions, including 7 in the CONCACAF Champions League, where he was the tournament's top scorer. His performances earned him a call-up to the national team.
Record-Breaking Move to América
In 2014, Peralta's impressive form led to a record-breaking transfer to América, who paid $10 million for his services. He made an immediate impact, scoring in his debut and helping América win the CONCACAF Champions League, where he was once again the tournament's top scorer.
International Career
