Early Life and Club Career

Óscar Alfredo Garré was born on December 9, 1956, in Rufino, Argentina. He began his professional football career in 1974 with Ferro Carril Oeste, where he played for 15 years until 1988. During his time at Ferro, he won two Argentine Primera División championships in 1982 and 1984.

After a brief stint with Huracán in 1988, Garré returned to Ferro Carril Oeste, where he remained until 1994. Over his 21 years with the club, he made 581 appearances and scored 16 goals.

In 1994, Garré moved to Israel, where he played for two years with Hapoel Kfar Saba and Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

International Career

Garré made his debut for the Argentina national team in 1983 at the Copa América, where he played four matches. He also participated in the 1986 FIFA World Cup, playing three matches in the group stage and the round of 16. However, he was an unused substitute in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final.

Garré made a total of 37 appearances for the Argentina national team before retiring from international football in 1987.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Óscar Garré embarked on a coaching career. He managed Lanús and Universidad Católica, among other clubs.

Legacy
