Early Career in Formula Racing
Carlos Larrauri, an Argentine racing driver, began his career in the Argentine Formula 3 Championship in 1979-1981. In 1981, he transitioned to the European Formula 3 Championship, where he secured a victory at the Nürburgring race.
European Formula 3 Triumph
The following year, Larrauri emerged victorious in the European Formula 3 Championship, earning seven race wins. This remarkable achievement paved the way for his entry into Formula 2 in 1984.
Transition to Sports Car Racing
After his stint in Formula 2, Larrauri shifted his focus to sports car racing. He achieved success in this arena, winning a race in Jerez while driving for Walter Brun's team.
Formula 1 Debut
In 1988, when Brun's team debuted in Formula 1, Larrauri joined them. However, his two-year tenure in the sport was marked by a lack of points, only seven race starts, and two finishes.

After leaving Formula 1, Larrauri redirected his efforts towards touring car racing. He experienced significant triumphs in this domain, winning the South American Touring Car Championship three times between 1997-2000.
