Early Career
Armero commenced his professional career in 2004 with América de Cali, a prominent Colombian club based in Cali. In 2005, he made his debut in the prestigious Copa Libertadores, showcasing his exceptional skills on a continental stage. His contributions helped guide América to its 13th Colombian league title in 2008.
Transfer to Brazil
In 2008, Armero sparked interest from Brazilian club Palmeiras. Negotiations ensued, and in January 2009, he officially joined Palmeiras for a transfer fee of €1.6 million. During his time in Brazil, Armero showcased his defensive prowess and attacking instincts, aiding Palmeiras in reaching the semi-finals of the São Paulo state championship. In July 2009, he netted his maiden goal for the club against Náutico Recife. However, a poignant moment occurred in January 2010 when Armero was substituted during a match against Corinthians and broke down in tears on the bench. He departed Palmeiras having made 79 appearances and scored one goal.
