Paloma Faith: A Multifaceted Singer, Songwriter, and Actress
Early Life and InfluencesPaloma Faith was born in London on July 21, 1981, to a British mother and a Spanish father. Growing up in Stoke Newington, Paloma was encouraged to pursue dance, taking daily ballet lessons in Dalston. After graduating from a private college, she enrolled in a degree program in Contemporary Dance at Leeds, simultaneously working as a hip-hop dancer at the popular nightclub LoveDough.

Seeking further education, Paloma pursued a Master's degree in Performing Arts. She paid her way through school by taking on various jobs, including cabaret singing, bartending, modeling, assisting a magician, and working as a sales assistant at Agent Provocateur.

Musical Beginnings
Paloma first made her mark in the music industry by paying homage to iconic soul and jazz artists, such as Etta James and Billie Holiday. In 2007, she met her future managers, Jamie Binns and Christian Wählberg, who provided initial guidance, studio sessions, and mentorship before Paloma signed with Lateral Management.

Breakthrough and Debut Album
Paloma's breakthrough came with the track "Broken Doll," which featured exceptional vocals and poignant lyrics. She declined an offer to join Amy Winehouse's band, preferring to perform original material. Her debut single, "It's Christmas (And I Hate You)" (2008), was a collaboration with Josh Weller and gained considerable attention.

Paloma's debut album, "Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?" (2009), was a critical and commercial success. Tracks like "Stone Cold Sober" and "New York" became top 20 singles, while the album itself reached number nine in the UK, eventually going double platinum.

Continued Success and Chart-Topping Albums
Her sophomore release, "Fall to Grace" (2012), peaked at number two in the UK and went double platinum. However, Paloma's most successful album to date remains "A Perfect Contradiction" (2014), which featured hit singles "Can't Rely on You" and "Only Love Can Hurt Like This," both reaching the UK top 10.

Acting Career
Alongside her musical pursuits, Paloma has also made a mark in the acting world. She landed a role as Donna Reynolds, a thief, in "HolbyBlue," and appeared in the ensemble cast of the comedy "St Trinian's" (2007). In "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" (2009), she played Sally, the companion of Tom Waits' character, the Devil.

Paloma's film and television credits include "Dread," "Coming Up," and "A Nice Touch." She also played cabaret singer Georgia in "The Crime Wave at Blandings" (2013) and had a cameo as herself in Paolo Sorrentino's "Youth" (2015). In 2015, she voiced Tinker Bell in the TV movie "Peter & Wendy."

Personal Life and Trivia
In 2005, Paloma married New Zealand chef Rian Haynes. They separated after eight months and divorced four years later. After the discovery of her birth certificate, Paloma revealed that she was born in 1981, not 1985, as previously reported. She explained that she had "made herself four years younger" to appear more attractive to record labels.
In August 2016, Paloma announced her pregnancy via a handwritten letter to her fans. Her child, whose gender is not specified, was born in December with French businessman Leyman Lahcine. They have opted for a gender-neutral upbringing.
