Breakthrough Season and Serie A Debut
Resilient as ever, Zanetti returned in the subsequent season as a formidable force for Empoli. He played a pivotal role in the team's promotion to Serie A. However, his stint in Italy's top flight was marred by another injury, limiting him to only 9 appearances.
Serie B and Torino: A New Chapter
In 2006, Zanetti sought a fresh start at Ascoli, which eventually relegated to Serie B. A year later, a €1 million transfer (50% of his rights) took him to Torino, where he inked a four-year contract.
