A German Hockey Star's Journey
Early CareerMarco Sturm, a German professional hockey player, began his career as a forward for his hometown club, Starbulls Rosenheim. He played in Germany's third division before joining Krefeld Pinguine in 2007.
Bundesliga Debut and Success
Sturm made his debut in the German Hockey League (DEL) during the 2007/08 season with Krefeld Pinguine. After five seasons with them, he moved to ERC Ingolstadt in 2012. With Ingolstadt, he achieved his first major triumph by winning the DEL championship in 2013/14. The following year, the team earned silver medals.
Move to Cologne and Vice-Captaincy
In 2015, Sturm joined Kölner Haie, where he spent two seasons as vice-captain.
Joining Red Bull Munich
Sturm's next move was to EHC Red Bull München in 2017. He has remained with the team ever since.
International Career
Youth and Junior TeamsBefore representing the German national team, Sturm played for the country's junior and youth squads at various championships.
Senior National Team
Sturm made his debut for the German national team at the 2009 IIHF World Championship. He has since become a regular member of the squad.
