Early Career

Anderson began his footballing journey at West Bromwich Albion, where he initially struggled to secure a professional contract due to being deemed "unpromising". Undeterred, he eventually signed an agreement with Hull City, where he caught the attention of Liverpool scouts.

Professional Career

In January 2006, Anderson signed a permanent contract with Liverpool. As part of the deal, Hull City could receive up to £1 million depending on Anderson's appearances for Liverpool's first team. This is particularly notable considering how easily West Bromwich Albion let him go.

In 2006, Anderson was part of the youth team that won the Youth Cup. He was called up to the senior team for the first time in February 2006 but did not make an appearance in the Champions League match against Benfica.
