Biography of Paul Terry
Paul Christopher James Terry was born on February 19, 1987, in the United Kingdom. He is a British amateur actor who gained recognition for his roles as a child in the film "James and the Giant Peach" and the teen television series "Microsoap".
Early Acting Career
Paul Terry had a limited acting career, with only two notable roles. He portrayed the orphan James in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's fairytale "James and the Giant Peach". He also played the character of Joe Parker, a boy whose parents are going through a divorce, in the British children's and teen series "Microsoap". This series aired on BBC and Disney Channel in 1998. Paul appeared in eight episodes out of the 26 total, and his character's older sister Emily was played by Rebecca Hunter.
Post-Acting Career
After his appearances in these projects, Paul Terry did not pursue any further acting opportunities in film, television, or commercials. The only exception was his participation in a television game show called "The Weakest Link", where he finished in third place.
James and the Giant Peach
The film adaptation of "James and the Giant Peach" was released in 1996, and Paul Terry's portrayal of James, a boy whose parents were eaten by a rhinoceros from the sky, was well-received. The director of the children's film with animated elements was Henry Selick. Notably, Tim Burton, the renowned filmmaker, also contributed to the creation of "James and the Giant Peach". The stop-motion characters in the film resemble those seen in Burton's works such as "Beetlejuice", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and "Corpse Bride".
Education and Hobbies
Paul Terry attended the prestigious Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School in Elstree, Hertfordshire. This school traditionally admits boys aged 4 to 19 with academic inclinations.
