Biography of Ron Eldard

Ron Eldard, born Ronald Jason 'Ron' Eldard, is an American actor known for his remarkable acting abilities. He was born in 1965 on Long Island, New York, and grew up in a large family of seven children. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when their mother died in a car accident, and soon after, all the children were placed in different families. Ron initially lived with his aunt and uncle in Utah, but at the age of 13, he moved to Queens to live with his older sister and her husband.

Eldard discovered his talent for acting at a young age and pursued his passion by studying drama at the prestigious New York High School for the Performing Arts. By the time he completed his education, he had already landed roles in Broadway plays. In 1989, he made his first appearance on screen, starring in the comedy film "True Love" directed by Nancy Savoca.

Eldard's breakthrough came in 1992 when he appeared in Martin Brest's acclaimed film "Scent of a Woman." Following this success, he continued to secure significant roles in both films and television series. In 1995, he starred alongside Cameron Diaz in Stacy Title's "The Last Supper" and played the lead role in Angelica Huston's drama "Bastard Out of Carolina" the following year. In 1996, Eldard joined the stellar cast of Barry Levinson's thriller "Sleepers" and later starred in Ron Moler's dramatic thriller "The Runner" in 1999.

Throughout his career, Eldard has delivered notable performances in various films, including Steve Beck's thriller "Ghost Ship" in 2002 and Vadim Perelman's drama "House of Sand and Fog" in 2003, where he acted alongside Jennifer Connelly and Ben Kingsley. In 2006, he appeared in Joe Roth's thriller "Freedomland" and Katherine Dieckmann's comedy "Diggers." Eldard portrayed the protagonist, Thomas Archer, in the 2007 action film "Already Dead" and played the character Daniel, a literary artist, in Peter Markle's television thriller "The Tenth Circle" in 2008.

In addition to his successful acting career, Eldard is known for his relationship with actress Julianna Margulies. The couple dated for several years and appeared together in the popular TV show "ER," where Eldard played the role of Ray Shepard. In 1999, Entertainment Weekly magazine named him one of the top ten artists of the year. Eldard is also known for his talent as a boxer and even won the "Golden Glove" award.
