Early Life and Education
Paula Rosput Reynolds was born into the world of business and achievement. Her father, a successful businessman himself, instilled in her a strong work ethic and a passion for economics. After graduating summa cum laude from Wellesley College in Massachusetts with a degree in economics, Reynolds began her career as a junior economist at a Boston-based consulting firm.
A Career in Energy
In 1979, Reynolds transitioned to the energy sector and embarked on a remarkable 27-year journey. Her impressive career in this industry included holding several pivotal positions. She served as director of the American Gas Association (AGA) until 2000, representing nearly 200 utility companies. In 2001, she became a director of Circuit City and joined the board of directors of The Coca-Cola Company, where she remains a valued member to this day. Her tenure at Air Products & Chemicals from 2001 to 2004 placed her in a leadership role within a major player in the global industrial gas industry.
Leadership at ALG Resources
A testament to her exceptional business acumen, Reynolds was elected Chairman of the Board and CEO of ALG Resources in 2002. Under her skilled leadership, the company's stock price more than doubled, it expanded its geographical reach, and it emerged as an industry leader.
Joining the Delta Airlines Board
Since 2004, Reynolds has served on the board of directors of Delta Airlines, a globally renowned aviation company. Her extensive experience in the transportation sector has proven invaluable to the company's success.
Safeco and Recognition
In January 2006, Reynolds assumed the helm of Safeco Corporation, an insurance company. Her leadership at Safeco significantly boosted her personal income, propelling her to 40th place on Fortune magazine's list of most powerful women in business that same year.

In 2007, Reynolds added another prestigious role to her resume as a director of Anadarko Petroleum. Her annual income from Safeco alone exceeds $2 million, while her total income across all assets surpasses $6 million.
