Biography of Omid Kordestani
Omid Kordestani is the Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development at Google. He is responsible for generating revenue from international operations and overseeing the daily trading operations of the company.
Early Career
Before joining Google, Omid worked in marketing, product management, and business development roles at various companies. These include The 3DO Company, Go Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard. He has more than twenty years of experience in providing and consuming high-tech services and has held leadership positions in several startups.
Contributions to Google
Omid started working at Google in May 1999 as the "Chief Business Officer" and played a crucial role in creating and implementing the company's initial business model. Under his leadership, Google quickly became a profitable company, with revenues exceeding $6 billion in 2005.
Success at Netscape Communications
Prior to joining Google, Omid served as the Vice President of Business Development and Sales at Netscape Communications, an early Internet company. During his tenure, he increased the company's annual revenue from online sales from $88 million to over $200 million in just 18 months.
