Biography of Paulina Rubio

Early Life and Career

Paulina Rubio Dosamantes was born on June 17, 1973, in Mexico City. Growing up in a family of performers, with her mother being a famous Mexican actress, Paulina was surrounded by the stage, cameras, and lights from a young age. She always aspired to become an actress, and her family supported her dream. However, her passion for music also grew, and she started her musical career in 1980 by joining the Televisa Training Center. After two years of training, she was selected as one of the members of the group "Timbiriche," alongside other notable artists such as Capetillo and Thalía. Paulina remained a part of the group for 10 years and they released 10 albums, with "Timbiriche 7" becoming one of the best-selling Spanish albums of all time.

Solo Career

Inspired by her performances with "Timbiriche," Paulina developed a strong desire to become a great singer. While still a part of the group, she continued her studies in jazz, singing, and vocal training in Los Angeles. In 1988, she made her debut in the television series "Pasión y Poder" and later appeared in the Spanish version of "Vaselina" alongside other members of "Timbiriche." In 1991, Paulina decided to leave the group and pursue a solo career. She traveled to Spain and recorded her first album "La Chica Dorada" under the guidance of Miguel Blasco. The album achieved significant success, with songs like "Mío," "Amor de Mujer," and "Sabor a Miel" becoming popular. The album went gold within a few days and eventually reached platinum status, selling over 300,000 copies. Her second album, "24 Kilates," released in 1993, also achieved great success, with hits like "Nieva Nieva," "El me engaño," and "Asunto de dos." The album went gold in Mexico within three weeks, surpassing 150,000 copies sold.

International Recognition and Recent Work

Paulina's talent extends beyond music, as she also hosted the television program "Vive el Verano" in Spain. However, music remains the most important aspect of her life. In 2000, she recorded the album "Paulina," which she worked on for two years to ensure the highest quality. Esteemed composers such as Estefano, Armando Manzanero, Juan Gabriel, and Christian de Walden contributed to the album. The first single, "Lo haré por ti," produced by Estefano, became popular and the album gained international success, not only in Spain and Latin America but also in non-Spanish-speaking countries like Germany and Italy.
