Biography of Pavel Delong
Pavel Delong is a Polish theater and film actor, as well as a singer. He was born in Krakow on the left bank of the Vistula River, into a family of professional musicians. Both his parents and most of his relatives were involved in music. Pavel has a younger sister named Dorota, who also became an actress. He attended Maria Sklodowska-Curie High School and graduated in 1989.
Education and Career
Pavel had diverse interests as a child, including sports, music, and science. As a result, he applied to several universities in various disciplines. Ultimately, he was accepted into the Academy of Physical Education, Jagiellonian University's law faculty, and the Ludwik Solski State Drama School. Pavel chose to pursue a career in the world of theater and graduated from the drama school in 1993.
After completing his theater education, Pavel Delong began working at the Warsaw People's Theater named after Zygmunt Hubner. His debut on stage was the role of Zbojnik Labag in the play "Drawings on Glass". He later collaborated with Warsaw theaters such as "On the Loose" and "Stage for Performances", as well as the Stefan Jaracz Theater in Kielce, the Wroclaw Contemporary Theater named after Edmund Wiercinski, and the Kielce City Center for Culture.
In 2001, Pavel tried his hand at music and released his studio album "Talk to Me More", recorded with singer and composer Justyna Steczkowska at the Warsaw recording studio "Mimofon". The music for all the songs was written by Steczkowska, and the lyrics were based on the works of international poets such as Shakespeare, Norwid, and Kołakowski. Despite not achieving commercial success, Pavel's album showcased his musical abilities.
Filmography
Pavel Delong made his film debut in 1993 with a small role as Serbian refugee Dolek Gorovitz in Steven Spielberg's iconic war drama "Schindler's List". He went on to play supporting roles in various television series and films such as "Fitness Club," "Death in Shallow Water," "Young Wolves," "Smugglers," "The Sagal Mystery," "Shaman," "The Dark Side of Venus," "Love and Do What You Want," "Life as Poker," "Habitat," "Tigers of Europe," "Deserter's Gold," and many others. He has appeared in over 80 films and television series to date.
In the new millennium, Pavel focused on participating in television projects and series, often playing secondary roles but also taking on central and leading roles. Some notable works from the 21st century include the adaptation of Henryk Sienkiewicz's novel "Where Are You Going?", the war drama "In June '41," the Russian adventure film "The Salamander Key," the mystical series "Angel or Demon," the Polish comedy "Make Yourself a Grandson," the romantic comedy "I'll Show You," the war drama "Sniper: Weapons of Retribution," the Russian crime drama "In Your Eyes," the melodrama "Stirlitz's Wife," the World War II series "The Secret of the Complex Cipher," and the American horror film "House".
Currently, Pavel Delong is filming for the Russian historical film "Viking," directed by Andrei Kravchuk, set to be released in 2016.
Personal Life
Pavel Delong has never been officially married. He was in a civil partnership with actress Katarzyna Gajdarska for several years. They met when they were 18 years old and studying at the drama school together. Pavel and Katarzyna have a son named Pavel Delong Jr., who was born in 1993. Their son has followed in his parents' footsteps and is pursuing an acting career.
Currently, Pavel Delong is in a relationship with Emma Kivorkova-Rachkovska, a dentist and co-owner of the Warsaw dental clinic "Villa Nova". Emma has Armenian origins.
In 2005, Pavel Delong participated in the second season of the program "Dancing with the Stars" on the Polish channel TVN, where he danced with Polish dancer Dominika Kublik-Marzes. They reached the 5th episode and finished in 7th place. In 2001, Pavel Delong received the "Teleamor" award as the sexiest actor according to readers of the Polish version of the magazine "Tele Tydzień".
