Ukrainian-born footballer and defender, Serhiy Tkachenko, embarked on his football journey under the tutelage of coach Alexander Serdyuk at the DYuSSh academy. He commenced his professional career with FC Mirgorod before representing the amateur clubs FC Sula (Lubny) and FC Fakel-GPZ (Varva).
Breakthrough with Tavriya
In 2000, Tkachenko made a significant breakthrough by joining FC Tavriya Simferopol. He debuted in the Ukrainian Premier League on March 25, 2000, against FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih (2:4). During his two-year stint with Tavriya, he featured in 28 matches. He also played on loan for FC Dynamo Simferopol.
Clubs and Titles
From 2004 to 2006, Tkachenko turned out for FC IgroSeris, amassing 97 appearances and scoring 4 goals. In the winter of 2007, he signed for PFC Oleksandria, where he became a bronze medalist in Ukraine's First League during the 2008/09 season. He participated in 73 games for the club, finding the net once.
Following his departure from Oleksandria, Tkachenko joined FC Nova Zhyttia from the village of Andriyivka, a team competing in the Ukrainian Amateur Championship. With Nova Zhyttia, he emerged victorious in the 2011 Ukrainian Amateur Championship and Super Cup.
Coaching and Success
In 2012, Tkachenko assumed a dual role as a playing coach for FC Sula from Zasulie. Under his leadership, the team captured the Lubensky Raion Championship, Cup, and Super Cup.
