Biography of Pavel Sokolov
Pavel Alexandrovich Sokolov was born in 1974 in Koryazhma, Arkhangelsk Oblast, in a very creative and musical family. His parents, as well as their parents, sang Russian folk songs, danced; his mother was an excellent dancer, his grandmother played the balalaika, and his grandfather was famous for his humorous skits. Together with his family, Pavel later moved to Saint Petersburg. He first stepped onto the stage at the age of 5 - his mother encouraged his dancing from childhood. Pavel graduated from the studio at the Music Hall. From the age of 14, he worked in dance numbers of the music group 'Na-Na', which continued until 1995. For another year, Pavel danced under the direction of Angelika Varum, and since 1997, he joined 'Na-Na' as a soloist, or simply became the "fifth Na-Na member".

The Transition to Solo Career
The idea of putting him in front of the microphone was born with Bari Karimovich," the young artist admitted. "Bari had long been suggesting to switch to a solo career. The guys suggested, 'Let's sing together!'. But I was hesitant. I thought that dancing was enough, but now I decided to try myself in vocal art - and it turned out well! And I liked it!". As part of the group, Pavel became a 10-time winner of the 'Ovation' music award. He quickly integrated into the collective and almost immediately gained fans, especially female fans, of which the group had a huge number by that time. Speaking about the group's fans, it is impossible not to mention that Pavel's father is their biggest fan. "When my dad is in a good mood, he puts up photos of 'Na-Na' and sings almost our entire repertoire," Pavel said about his father in one of his interviews. From the summer of 2008, Pavel Sokolov's career in the group, which by then was already called 'Na-Na' ('Na-Nax'), ended, and he started working as a solo performer. In July 2008, he participated in concerts marking the Kremlin Cup. Pavel released his first solo music video at the end of 2008 - for the song 'Vernaya' by Kim Breitburg and July Gubaeva. By the way, it was with this song that Sokolov entered the VIP zone on MUZ-TV, and in spring, his video took first place in Russia's 'Hot Ten' television channel. This song also earned Sokolov the 'World Fashion Awards' in 2009 for the 'best fashion image in a music video'. In February 2009, the second music video was filmed for the song 'Don't tell me'. The new song 'Vot i vse' was released in the summer of 2009, and in July of the same year, Pavel performed at 'Slavic Bazaar 2009'. In 2009, just before the New Year, Pavel Sokolov released another song called 'Novogodnee nastroenie' (New Year's Mood). And in February 2010, Pavel presented his new work - the song 'Pervokursnitsa' by Kim Breitburg with poetry by Alexander Shaganov.

Other Interests and Future Plans
It is known that Pavel has always been a fan of a slightly different musical style than he represents himself - his favorite bands are 'AC/DC' and 'Nirvana'. He has always admired Madonna, and his constant idol on stage has always been and remains Michael Jackson, whom Pavel admires for everything - his music and his dance moves. Among Pavel's other hobbies is collecting flasks. He started this rather original collection about 10 years ago, and to this day, he has several dozen specimens; the most valuable one for him is the very first flask given to him by Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Pavel Sokolov is a frequent guest on radio and television programs; it is known that as part of the group, he had to perform in "hot spots," for which the artist was awarded combat awards. It is known that today Pavel is preparing his first solo album, filming another new music video, and preparing a new concert program.
