Jovan Adamov-Marković

A Serbian folk writer, Jovan Adamov-Marković founded the weekly literary magazine "Brankovo-Kolo." This publication became a hub for Serbia's most prominent authors during the 1920s.


Transition to Realism

Early in his career, Adamov-Marković departed from the influence of Romanticism. He embraced realism, depicting the daily life of the Serbian countryside.


Notable Work

One of Adamov-Marković's most notable short stories is "My Elder Brother." This story was translated into Russian and published in "Vestnik Inostrannoy Literatury," volume VI, in 1905.
