Early Life and Career at Boca Juniors

Pedro Calomino was born Pedro Fournol. He adopted the name Calomino from his foster family. He made his debut for Boca Juniors in 1911 and immediately made a mark, scoring on his first match against Independiente. Except for a brief stint in 1914 when he played for Hispano-Argentino and Argentino de Quilmes, Calomino stayed with Boca until 1924.

Record-Breaking Goalscorer for Boca Juniors

Calomino is widely regarded as one of Boca Juniors' greatest goalscorers. He led the team in scoring for six consecutive seasons from 1913 to 1919. This record was later surpassed by Martin Palermo, who became the club's top scorer eight times.

Calomino made his debut for the Argentine national team in 1917 and earned 37 caps, scoring an impressive 85 goals. He played in five editions of the South American Championship (now Copa América) and won the tournament in 1921.
