Peter Arnie Jöback was born on June 4, 1971, in Stockholm, Sweden. His mother, Monica Lind, is a renowned Swedish singer and actress. Jöback received his training at the Adolf Fredrik's School of Music and later at the Royal College of Music in vocal studies. He also attended the Lasse Kühler School of Dance.

Musical Breakthrough

Jöback's rise to fame began on December 11, 1989, when he won a talent competition by singing "Anthem" from the musical "Chess." In 1990, he participated in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish qualifier for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "En sensation."

Stage Career

Jöback's stage debut came in 1990 with a role in the Stockholm Philharmonic's production of "West Side Story." The following year, he played the young angel in the musical "Grease."
