Biography of Peter Baltes

Peter Baltes, the bass guitarist of the German band Accept, was born on April 4, 1958 in Solingen. Unlike other musicians in Accept, Peter had played in semi-professional teams before joining the band, particularly in Pythagoraz. In fact, Peter became a bassist out of necessity as Pythagoraz had three guitarists and someone had to play the bass. Peter drew the short straw.

He became an indispensable bassist in Accept and during his time with the band, he was awarded the title of #1 Bassist by Burn magazine and Best European Bassist by Metal Hammer magazine. In 1986, he also ranked 12th among the best bassists in the world according to Rock Scene magazine. Peter also sang vocal parts on several Accept songs.

Currently, Peter resides in Newtown, Pennsylvania, USA, where he actively participates in the Christian community of the city. He is involved in developing Christian rock music and provides guitar lessons. Peter is married and has two children. Since the band's reunion in 2010, he has been actively engaged with Accept once again.
