Early Life
Peter Bondra was born on February 7, 1968, in Lutsk, Ukrainian SSR. His father was originally from Czechoslovakia and went to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in search of a better life. When Peter was three years old, the family returned to Czechoslovakia. Despite a desire for change, the head of the family ultimately chose to pursue happiness in his homeland. Unfortunately, he did not live to see better times. When Peter was fourteen years old, his father passed away, and his mother and brothers took care of his upbringing.
Professional Career
After some time, Peter got the opportunity to move to the United States. Upon arrival in North America, he was a citizen of the USSR and later obtained Czechoslovak citizenship. Even in his early childhood, the athlete's goal was a successful professional sports career, with a special focus on hockey. In America, Peter Bondra began his professional career and quickly became one of the leading players in various minor leagues. Soon, he gained the necessary experience, and his talent fully blossomed. The turning point for the hockey player was when Peter started playing in the NHL.
