Biography of Peter Figovsky

Peter Figovsky was an American police officer and veteran of law enforcement. He was born on an undisclosed date and grew up in Brooklyn.

Police Response

On the night of the incident, Peter Figovsky responded to a routine call in Brooklyn. The police had received a report of an illegal entry into a basement. The owner of the building contacted the police at 2:15 am, stating that unknown individuals had assaulted him with a firearm and stolen $770 worth of money and valuables. It was also reported that one of the suspects had concealed their face with a ski mask.

The Shootout

The suspects attempted to flee the crime scene but were unable to find an alternate exit. They took refuge in one of the side rooms for some time, evading detection by the police officers who were initially questioning the resident and a neighbor. As the criminals attempted to escape through the front door, Peter Figovsky intercepted them, only to be shot in the face and incapacitated almost immediately. His partner, Glenn Estrada, encountered one of the fleeing suspects and, after hearing the gunshot and seeing the perpetrator running down the street, left Peter to pursue the shooter. A chase ensued for several blocks until Estrada successfully apprehended the suspect.

Aftermath

The arrested suspect, 27-year-old Lamont Pride, was charged with murder. It is unknown if he has obtained legal representation, and no information is available about the second perpetrator. A semi-automatic pistol was discovered near Pride's arrest location, and forensic analysis revealed that it had been fired at least once, with a spent cartridge found in the barrel. The police later stated that Pride could have injured many more individuals if his weapon had not malfunctioned. A ski mask was also found near the arrest site.

Death and Legacy

Peter Figovsky succumbed to his injuries at the hospital at 7:17 am. At the time of his death, he was 47 years old and had served in the police force for 22 years. Throughout his career, Figovsky made over 200 arrests and received 12 medals, including 8 for outstanding service. He was previously married but divorced later in life. He left behind four daughters: Corrine (14), Carolyn (16), Caitlyn (18), and Christine (20). It is known that Figovsky could have retired peacefully two years before his tragic death.
