Peter Manfredo Jr., a professional boxer, was born in 1980 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. He comes from a family with a boxing background, as his father, Peter Manfredo Sr., was a former professional boxer and champion in taekwondo. Today, Manfredo Sr. serves as his son's trainer and manager.

Early Career
Manfredo began his boxing training at the age of seven and won his first significant match at the age of nine. He made his professional boxing debut in 1980, at the age of nineteen, in the super middleweight category. He was trained by renowned coach Freddie Roach.

The Contender and Notable Fights
In 2004, Manfredo joined the first season of the reality boxing show "The Contender" and became a finalist, ultimately losing to Sergio Mora. In 2006, Manfredo achieved a significant victory by defeating his fellow hometown boxer, Joey Spina, by technical knockout in the third round.

In April 2007, Manfredo faced world champion Joe Calzaghe in a highly anticipated match. Legendary middleweight Sugar Ray Leonard assisted Manfredo in his training for this fight. Despite putting up a strong defense, Manfredo was overwhelmed by Calzaghe's attacks and the fight was controversially stopped in the middle of the third round, resulting in a loss for Manfredo.

In December 2007, Manfredo fought Jeff Lacy, another notable opponent. The fight started off well for Manfredo, but he was knocked down in the fourth round. Although he showed resilience and defensive skills, Manfredo was outmatched by Lacy's pace. After ten rounds, the judges declared Lacy the winner by unanimous decision.
Later Career
In November 2008, Manfredo suffered a knockout loss to Sakio Bika, who was also a contestant on a season of "The Contender". The fight was stopped in the third round, disappointing fans who had hoped for a longer bout.
In January 29, 2022, Manfredo will face Matt Vanda in a professional boxing tournament in Anka'sville, Connecticut. The vacant NABF super middleweight title will be at stake in this match. Throughout his career, Manfredo has competed in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions.
