Early Career

Peter van Vossen began his football career in the Netherlands before moving to Belgium in 1989, where he joined Beveren. Despite scoring five goals in his first season, the team was relegated to the Belgian Second Division. In the following season, van Vossen's 18 goals played a crucial role in Beveren's return to the top flight.

Success with Anderlecht

In 1992, van Vossen transferred to Anderlecht, the reigning Belgian champions. He played a key role in their title-winning campaign, helping the club secure the 1992/93 Belgian First Division championship.

Joining Ajax

In the summer of 1993, van Vossen made a high-profile move to Ajax Amsterdam for a fee of 7 million guilders. Although he was not a regular starter under manager Louis van Gaal, he made significant contributions as a substitute and helped the team win the 1994/95 Dutch Eredivisie title.

European Triumph and Turkish Venture

The 1995 season was a highlight for van Vossen and Ajax. The club defended their Eredivisie title and captured the UEFA Champions League, their first European Cup triumph in 22 years. Van Vossen remained on the bench during the final against AC Milan, but Ajax clinched a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Patrick Kluivert. He later joined Turkish club Istanbulspor but spent only a season there, playing in 16 matches and scoring five goals.

Stint with Rangers

In 1996, van Vossen moved to Scottish giants Rangers. He struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup, appearing in just 22 matches and scoring five goals over three seasons.

Return to the Netherlands

After leaving Rangers, van Vossen returned to the Netherlands and signed for Feyenoord. He became a more regular performer there, helping the club win the 1998/99 Eredivisie title and the 2000 Dutch Super Cup.

International Career

Van Vossen made his debut for the Netherlands national team in 1992 and was part of the squad that reached the quarterfinals at the 1994 World Cup. He scored two goals in his second match for the Oranje but fell out of favor after 1995. In 1999, he returned to the team and played in the 2000 European Championship, where the Netherlands finished third. His final appearance for the national team came against Italy in 2000 after 31 caps and nine goals.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, van Vossen pursued a coaching career. He served as an assistant manager at Omniworld and AGOVV Apeldoorn before joining Rozenburg as assistant to Hungarian manager Sandor Popov, who resigned after just a month in charge.
